Try one or two of my favourite wellness products. They are small luxuries that can help strengthen your overall mental and physical health.
Over the past few months, I’ve really come to terms with the fact that it’s the little things that matter. With everything going on in the world lately, I’ve started to rely on simple, yet effective joys to brighten my days.
Focusing on my well-being has really improved tension, worry, stress, and dissatisfaction in my daily routine. There’s a sense of safety that lies within my self-care bubble—therefore, it is critical to make time for these moments.
If you’re looking to improve your general well-being, try a few options from my list of wellness products. They are simply little luxuries that can help strengthen your overall mental and physical health.
Bubble Bath and Bath Soaks
There’s nothing more relaxing than a warm bubble bath during the autumn and winter months. Something about soaking in a tub with a glass of wine in hand, surrounded by soap suds and candles, is just so luxurious.
What makes a good bath is the bubble bath or bath soak you use, so I’ve decided to reveal some favourites: L’Occitane Lavendar Foaming Bath and Dr Teal’s Eucalyptus Epsom Salt Soak
Facial and Lip Masks
Hydration is key, especially with cold weather in the air. Face and lip masks are important in my skincare routine. I can’t live without my Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and Summer Fridays Jetlag Mask. The level of hydration is impeccable and I wake up feeling rejuvenated and glowing! I can confidently say I woke up like this.
Silk Pillow Case and Eye Mask
If you’ve always slept with regular cotton pillow cases, believe me when I say this is going to be a game changer for you. Invest in a high-quality silk pillow case, and perhaps a silk eye mask if you want something extra. If not, any eye mask will suffice.
Silk pillow cases allow for smooth movement, which can prevent tugging (aka wrinkles and damaged hair)! A popular brand, that you may have heard of, is Slip. Their pillow cases are $119 CAD and eye masks are $70 CAD.
When trying to soothe my soul and ease my racing mind, I tend to reach for anything that can provide me with some knowledge on what I’m feeling and how I can understand it.
For me, self-help books have a been a huge part of my self-care process. I have come to learn so many new things about myself and my perspective of the world. Some of my favourites are The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson.
As you’ve probably heard, collagen helps maintain that youthful glow. It’s actually one of the most important nutrients needed to ensure the health and vitality of our skin, hair, bones, and joints.
Everyone can use more collagen, and these Collagen Peptides are in the form of powder—making it easy to pop in your morning tea or coffee.
Matching Workout Sets
If anything motivates me to workout, it’s a matching activewear set. Something about the coordinating colours and patterns just inspires me to get moving. It’s all about looking cute and feeling good! One of my favourite affordable sets is Jetjoy Seamless Yoga Outfit Sports Bra and Leggings Set.
If your anxiety is at an all-time high, join the club. CBD oil has helped calm my nerves and brought me back down to earth. It is also beneficial for sore muscles and joints, as well as any other chronic pain. Calyx Wellness’ Heal CBD Oil has helped me fall asleep faster and with ease.
Blue Light Glasses
The amount of technology we have been consuming nowadays is insane! Things have definitely amplified over the years. This can be both good and bad. It’s important to protect our assets, especially our eyes—which happen to be staring at screens way more than we’d like to believe.
Investing in blue light glasses was the best thing I ever did! If you don’t need a prescription, just buy the pure blue light glasses (plus, it’s a great accessory).
Don’t you find that cooking can be overwhelming at times? The same old snacks and meals can get boring really quick. It’s important to spice things up every so often, to avoid reaching for the takeout menu.
The best way to stay on top of your meals is to have delicious, easy recipes handy—which is what cookbooks are for! I am loving Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings: Hungry for More and Rachel Mansfield’s Just the Good Stuff.
Practicing gratitude is my number one favourite wellness ritual. Gratitude opens the door to so many amazing aspects of life.
Being genuinely grateful leads to healthier relationships, enhances empathy, settles anger and resentment, eases anxiety, and generally improves your mood and outlook on life. A great gratitude journal is The Five-Minute Journal—it includes prompts to help guide you on your journey to gratitude!
These would make great holiday gifts as well!
